Dale Littlefield, AIA

Originally licensed in 1993, I have traveled the world researching, planning, designing and constructing facilities that meet the needs of owners, developers and users.

 

A graduate of Texas Tech University School of Architecture in 1984, I have spent my career being personally involved in many successful design and construction projects.

 

As Principal in Charge of IHS Architects specializing in affordable, aesthetic solutions for Hospitality, Assisted Living, Multi-Family, Institutional and Industrial projects in Florida, Tennessee and Mississippi totaling more than 80 million USD in construction.  Designed five assisted living facilities constructed in Mississippi and Florida. Completed two hotel conversion/renovations in Arkansas

 

Provided design and project management services for various Federal Express (FedEx) projects.

 

As consulting Architect, managed the Construction Document teams for a 106,000SF two story academic building for Southwest Tennessee Community College in Memphis, TN, a 44,000SF combination middle/high School in Memphis, TN.

 

Designed the 50,000 sq ft Corporate Headquarters and Distribution Warehouse for Impact Logistics in Memphis, TN.

 

Provided design solutions for several custom homes.

 

While deployed to Afghanistan for five years during Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF), I provided project design and construction management services for multiple projects totalling over 500 million USD. Including master planning, compound and facility designs for the Government of Afghanistan, US Department of State, US Department of Defense, International Committee of the Red Cross, International Security Forces - Afghanistan, European Union, Governments of Italy, Holland, Australia and Hungary.

As the Design-Engineering Department Manager for the Department of State Overseas Building Operations Facilities Maintenance Section at the Kabul Embassy for 4-1/2 years, overseeing the design and implementation of various projects to provide a safe, livable facility for US Diplomats.

Over the past 34 years, while serving in key positions. I have had the opportunity to work on a portfolio of highly specialized facilities, systems and infrastructure consistent with demanding and discerning customers here in the United States as well as overseas. Such a varied background and experience in progressively more difficult design and construction issues has prepared me for the full spectrum of challenges that often occur during any project. Leading teams of highly specialized creative individuals to avoid typical problems and pitfalls to successfully complete multi-faceted tasks is my primary specialty.
